GRIHODDA – Dino Cama and Rune Lambrecht

The exhibition stems from a word created in the meeting between Bosnia and Bornholm. The word unites the Bosnian grihota, which contains meanings of sin, shame and loss, with the Bornholm hodda, which denotes something built or something that has come into being.

The exhibition is the result of a mutual respect for each other's practice and a friendship that arose between the two artists a few years ago. In Bosnian speech, grihota is used to refer to the shameful, the wasted, and the close; memories of war, collective guilt, everyday life, and the realization that something could and should have been different.

The Bornholm word hodda anchors this in the landscape. On Bornholm, the terrain is constantly shaped by wind and water; rocks are worn away, sand is moved, and new shapes emerge. Hodda is therefore not only something that humans build on, but also something that nature itself adds to.

The exhibition revolves around the layers that are added to us throughout life. Experiences, actions and stories accumulate in the body and in the landscape around us. Encounters between culture, baggage, trauma and new beginnings shape us through faith, relationships and time. Some we inherit, some we acquire, and some we carry on without being able to separate from the whole.

The exhibition could be experienced from Saturday, March 7, to Sunday, May 17, 2026.
