Dream Tracks – Lars Ahlstrand

Lars Ahlstrand (b. Copenhagen 1958) works with abstract interpretations of rhythm, landscapes and intuition. Randomness is a large part of the process, where Ahlstrand processes clear and strong pigments into sensual expressive paintings. Lars Ahlstrand has developed a recognizable expression that never takes a final form. Because sensation lives and vibrates in the many abstract representations of the paintings. The viewer is invited into the motif.

 

Ever since Lars Ahlstrand's first trip to Kolkata, India in 1989, he has been strongly inspired by India's countless colors, scents and landscapes, as well as the contrast with Scandinavian culture and nature. For more than two decades, Ahlstrand has lived and painted in India's natural surroundings. Since then, Ahlstrand has exhibited his art at countless exhibitions in Denmark, Sweden, India and the USA. He has created decorative projects for Mærsk, Comwell Hotels, Nationalbanken, Nordea, Carlsberg, PFA, Codan and other companies, and has published three art books.
