Henrik Busk Andersen

Henrik Busk Andersen was born in 1967 in Aalborg, Denmark. Already as a child he was fascinated by the art of painting and has since developed his artistic talent. Henrik Busk Andersen has worked as a full-time visual artist and sculptor since 2002, and is today considered a recognized North Jutland artist. Henrik Busk Andersen's paintings are based on the abstract; figuratively and nonfiguratively. A new interpretation of the CoBrA movement's abstract idiom and ideology.

The main theme in some of the works is the interaction between man and woman; love, security, longing and anger. Abstraction with clear, bright and strong colours, with faces and bodies in motion, which are accentuated by the abstract background from which the figurative emerges.

"The raw paint is my instrument to play my melody, my pen to write my poem, my mouth to tell my story, my lens to focus on the erotic, the beautiful, the forgotten, the hidden, the indifferent, the unsaid, the filth under the carpet or under the skin in a person's inner backyard.

A painting or work, depending on the snob effect, has one surface, one layer or several. Painted to use paint or to be the tip of the iceberg and be the top of the bottom, a bottom you might see, or want to see, or don't want to see, but only use the top, like an ice cube that still dares to stand up. But beware, in the world of fairy tales, the emperor's new clothes are worth as much as the crow on which soup is boiled in the clod's boot. A cat can be a dog in a picture, it's so easy to fly with wings, the paint fills up and then it's done.”
