Adam Gabriel

Adam Gabriels was born in 1967 on Guadeloupe, French Caribbean. His clear fascination is man; the naked vulnerable person. Who are we? The starting point for this is the face. The powerful brushstrokes and precise lines reveal no obvious emotion, but insist on the viewer's full attention. The existential focal point of the works is an open meeting with man, and perhaps we can recognize ourselves in the inevitable, strong gazes of the nameless figures.

"I mostly paint with oil colors on canvas, but I also work with different techniques in drawing, ink drawing, watercolor and oil pastel. Also works as a bronze sculptor. I am a member of the art association Arts and Crafts along the Wadden Sea and the artist group, Sønderjyske Kunstnere.

I always search and try to find myself in my art. My greatest fascination is the human being – face and body. I play with colors and shapes. Find expressions that provoke, move and ask questions; Is there another truth in man? What does it mean to be human? I do not believe in a particular philosophy or religion, but belong to myself – and my art! My greatest desire is to give something to the world that lasts forever.”
