Henrik Busk Andersen was born in Aalborg in 1967. He lives and works from his studio in Aabybro, North Jutland.

In the exhibition: TO BE OR NOT TO BE HARDCORE, Henrik Busk Andersen shows his dark side on canvas and with his patinated bronze sculptures. The current works process the grotesque and raw crap reality around us, the most terrible things, from the news stream that intrudes: the war in Ukraine, alcoholism, crisis in the relationship, MeToo and child abuse. Henrik Busk Andersen insists that it is the artist's job to mix and share his commentary on current developments with visual depictions of difficult subjects.

Throughout his 25-year career as an artist, Henrik Busk Andersen has made around 80 hardcore works, half of which are currently exhibited in Galleri Fusion, the rest have been sold. The works that Henrik Busk Andersen calls his hardcore works are his vent, where he debates conflicts and themes that affect everyday life in our society.

Henrik Busk Andersen is known for the bronze sculpture The Bridge Builder, which is located at the far end of the marina in Vejle. A 100 kg bronze sculpture, which Henrik Busk Andersen presented to Vejle Municipality in 2019. A small version of the sculpture has also been made, with the profit (DKK 400,000) donated to social work in the Café Parasollen in Vejle.

Henrik Busk Andersen has also created and donated the bronze sculpture to the burial site for the homeless and vulnerable in the Old Cemetery at Our Saviour's Church in Vejle. Henrik Busk Andersen's most talked about bronze sculpture is Balls Tell It All, which was located at the Godsbanen in Aarhus, but the sculpture was removed on the back of relatively little criticism and a lot of media coverage in 2019. The famous bronze sculpture Balls Tell It All can now be viewed and can be purchased in the gallery.

The exhibition can be seen until Sunday, August 18, 2024.
