Peter Ringgaard

Peter Ringgaard lives and works in Copenhagen, Tisvilde and Chiang Mai, Thailand.

In the solo exhibition "Without Boundary" we meet Peter Ringgaard - an ambitious and talented Danish visual artist and film director who grew up in Silkeborg and Copenhagen. In the exhibition, Peter Ringgaard shows his latest series of figurative works on canvas and hand-carved wooden sculptures, which are cut from Thai jamjuree wood (Acacia wood). In the works, Peter Ringgaard depicts his fascination for oriental culture, man and the contrasts with our modern society.

The exhibition shows a collection of colouristic works with edge, sensitivity, interpretations and narratives, which sometimes take their starting point from personal memories and stories, from a life with culture and nature very close. Peter Ringgaard's approach to art is sensual and poetic, there are hidden details and themes in the motifs, which the viewer should interpret himself.

Throughout his long career as a film director, Peter Ringgaard has traveled the world and lived many years abroad, including in Bangkok, the Middle East and Los Angeles. Asia's diverse cultures and down-to-earth nuances in particular have been one of several sources of inspiration in the creation of the works for the exhibition. Peter Ringgaard has received great recognition for his artistic work, and several exhibitions await him in Bangkok, Singapore and Copenhagen before the end of 2024, and New York in 2025.
